Tony and Mary Chehwan have been the owners and operators of Scali Cafe since April, 2007. Originally from Lebanon and Venezuela, Tony and Mary thought that it was fascinating to be in the city and had long dreamed of owning a cafe in Boston’s downtown financial district.
The couple has always had a passion for great food. Mary learned to prepare meals with her parents while growing up. She has translated her love of cooking into many of the delicious dishes on their menu today. Mary and Tony, the official taste tester, pride themselves on preparing tasty meals from scratch each day using only fresh ingredients.
Touted by some as one of the best cafes in Boston, Scali also offers both lunch and breakfast catering in Boston’s financial district and the greater Boston area.
